Keep Calm and Copy On With a Copier Service Partner

You rely on copiers to keep your law office’s document production moving. When they break, you need a service partner that can help you copy on.

You are the behind-the-scenes glue holding your law firm’s practice together. Most days, you don’t feel like an office manager but like a triage doctor, prioritizing what needs to be done first. Only you also have the fun task of handling (some) lawyer’s outsized egos as well.

You’re up early. You stay late. You don’t have time to handle everything – nor should you.

The last thing you need is to deal with is the backbone of your document production, your multifunction printers and copiers, when they need to be serviced.

Complex, Not Simple

When I was younger, I had a simplistic view of what lawyers did – they’d talk to their client, take some notes, maybe do a little hands-on investigating (thanks for that misleading impression, Perry Mason), and then show up in court and argue all day (and, of course, get the guilty person to confess).

What I didn’t realize was the hours and dedication to the law required to be a good lawyer. And now that we serve the legal industry, I understand the complexity of supporting the lawyers with research, billing, running your office, and, this is where we come in, making sure documents are produced as needed.

While this is changing, many people view a copier as a simple machine. In the past, this was “somewhat” the case – you plugged it in, made sure it had toner, pushed the button, and the copy machine made copies.

Today’s digital multifunction copiers have more capabilities than the photocopiers of 20 years ago (fax, scan, copy, and print), and those capabilities come with added complexity – thousands of parts that combine both machinery AND computers.

Regular maintenance will keep your equipment up and running longer, but, unfortunately, sometimes your copier, and other office equipment, will breakdown.

And this is when you need a service partner.

Rapid, Accurate Copier Service Matters

Statistics vary, but office equipment, like a multifunction copier, can experience an issue of some sort every two weeks. Your court dates aren’t going to be postponed because your office can’t print the case files and supporting materials your legal teams need to support your clients.

There are multiple components of being able to fix office equipment quickly:

  1. Training – I mentioned the complexity of the equipment already, we invest in training yearly ($1.2 million in the last six years).
  2. Rapid response – We have an average response time of two hours and 42 minutes to service requests. Not only are we out quickly, our average resolution time is 4 hours and 18 minutes. We come, we see, we fix – you get back to producing case materials.
  3. One visit to fix – Datamax Texas fixes 88% of our service calls on the first visit, again saving you time and minimizing disruption in your document workflows.

One Fewer Thing on Your Plate

You’ve got enough to do. No need to rely on your internal IT folks to troubleshoot copier repair and maintenance – or trying to do it yourself! Develop a relationship with a professional so you can focus on what you need do in your already too-hectic day!
