Coppell, TX (March 31, 2026) — Datamax continues to reinforce its reputation as a leading copier service provider, marking its unprecedented 19th consecutive year earning the Canon Association of Technical Service Professionals (ATSP) Advanced Service Certification. This year, 95 percent of the Datamax service team achieved certification, reflecting a deep commitment to technical excellence and customer support.
Director of Service Shawn Hay applauds his service team for their efforts to keep the Datamax ATSP streak alive.
"I have a great amount of admiration for my guys for sticking with the ATSP training because it’s not easy. These tests are always updated: Just because you passed it a few years ago doesn’t mean you will today,” Hay said. “As a technician, hopefully you’re proud to have that ATSP ‘badge’ to wear, because you’re one of the few to have been through that rigorous training.”
This recognition goes beyond standard equipment certification. Technicians must complete a demanding series of up to six exams developed under Canon’s proprietary testing methodology, all administered online.
Achieving this level of certification demonstrates a high standard of performance in key service metrics such as response time, resolution time, and first call completion rate, helping ensure greater uptime and reliability for clients.
"For a customer, ATSP recognition gives you confidence that the technician coming into your office has the resources and tools to take care of that machine. You’re not worried about their expertise or whether they’ll have the manufacturer's backing and support," Hay said. "Not every company has the time or the desire to reach this status. It takes a lot of dedication by the company, and a strong commitment by the individual technician, and all of it allows us to see how we compare with other dealers and service teams across the country.”
Datamax’s continued investment in technician development plays a central role in maintaining these standards. The ATSP certification also provides priority access to Canon’s Tier 3 support, giving Datamax technicians direct access to advanced expertise for faster troubleshooting and resolution of complex equipment issues.
Matthew Baroletti, Vice President and General Manager, Service Strategy and Support, and Business Information Communication Group at Canon USA, congratulated Datamax personnel via letter upon the announcement of their 19th consecutive ATSP attainment.
"Your participation in the ATSP program clearly demonstrates the value you place on your team members who help to satisfy customers," Baroletti said. "These individuals are tremendous assets who give your service organization a competitive edge."
