Coppell, TX (May 15, 2023) — Datamax further bolstered its reputation as a leading copier service provider by earning the Canon Association of Technical Service Professionals (ATSP) award for an unprecedented 16th consecutive year.
A training program that extends beyond conventional equipment certification, ATSP recognition is awarded after successfully passing a series of up to six exams, prepared pursuant to a proprietary Canon testing method that is administered online.
Vice President of Operations Steve Kennemer applauds the efforts of his technicians, who collectively spent more than 400 hours over the past year taking on the additional training sessions. He also credits ATSP-level training as a huge factor in the high level of service metrics (Response Time, Response + Resolution Time, First Call Completion Rate, etc.) that his department maintains over time.
"Back when we first made a commitment to the ATSP program, what we essentially wanted to do is set ourselves apart from other dealers. What better way than taking on the highest ranking of training that your manufacturer has to offer?" Kennemer said. "Knowledge is success when it comes to working on equipment, and it's often the difference in someone taking two hours or 30 minutes to fix a machine... The technology is more advanced than its ever been. The training is what keeps us current."
Beyond the in-depth technician training, ATSP certification also provides Datamax priority access to Canon’s Tier 3 support, bringing in the highest level of expertise for troubleshooting and faster resolution to unique Canon equipment issues a client may face.

DFW-based Service Manager Shawn Hay and East Texas Director of Operations Justin Harper earned this after completing a rigorous phone-based course with a Senior Canon Engineer.
